Spring

Spring season has a lot of meanings, I think it depends on people…Some of us (especially me) think it is the best season in the year, because we can enjoy the beautiful things of life, for example, flowers, trees, a clear sky, the stars at night, etc. This season is more special for people who enjoy those things. For people who became happy and grateful to be able to see everything that happens in this season.
This is a season for reflecting about nice things that life gives us, it is because we can be in contact with the nature; we can camp and hear the sound of the birds or we can feel the wind blowing on our faces. Nature, specifically, rural places are the best places for reflecting.
Sometimes we are not very grateful to nature or to God for things that we have, I think it is because we have always had those things, but if we think carefully we can discover that all those things are really wonderful. That is why we should value all these beautiful things.
But there are other people who do not like spring, because they say it is synonymous with allergies, because most of them have hay fever or something like that. There are some people who hate the spring but I think it is not because they are bad people but because nobody can enjoy something which is bad for his or her health.
Other people think in this season love reborns. A lot of people have found their partner during the spring. I think it is because people are happier in summer and spring than in winter or fall. Scientifics say it is because in those seasons sunlight and moonlight are stronger, so we can pick the light up better than in winter or fall, because in that kind of seasons the sky is cloudy or overcast.
We can do many things during this season, for example, we can see when flowers are flowering, or when trees are blossoming, or simply you can see the stars at night, you can also share and visit your friends. You cannot do these kinds of things in others seasons like winter, because the sky is overcast or many times it’s raining, so you cannot go out.
But I think we should enjoy every season because in each of them there are special things to enjoy. For example, we can enjoy a rainy day; we can enjoy when the sky is cloudy, or when leaves are falling in autumn. I think the secret for being happy every day is to value and appreciate everything.

Independence Day is one of the most important celebrations in our country. This day is very important for us because in an independent country people are free to do what they want, for example, they can say what they think or feel. On the other hand, in a dependency country people are treated like slaves. Fortunately, our ancestors, specifically our heroes like Bernardo O’Higgins, José Miguel Carrera, Manuel Rodriguez, and others, fought a lot for getting our independence.
Independence Day is celebrated at all our country. These date Chileans eat typical food like “Empanadas”, Chilean casserole, and other delicious meals, and also drink “Chicha”, which is a typical drink. Another important thing that we do during Independence Day is to play typical games, to dance our typical dance called “Cueca”.
But the present year, this celebration will be more important and bigger than other last years, because our country will be 200 years old, specifically on September 18th, 2010.
The celebration will be doubly important, because our country have suffered two big tragedies, the first one, was a big earthquake on February 27th, it was horrible, because in this occasion many people died, a lot of houses were destroyed; It was really a terrible natural catastrophe. Also recently 33 miners are trapped in a mine at the depth of 700 meters, fortunately they are all alive, this. It is the second great reason. That is why Chileans say this year will be the best celebration!!
Chileans are more motivated than other year. News tells us that a lot of people have fought flags and other typical goods for decorating their houses or places where they work. Even, some people have taken dancing lessons for learning to dance our national dance .They say that our country not always is 200 years old.
Another interesting thing that we are doing is a “big box”, which people are keeping special and valuable things. These box will be opened in 100 years else.
Bicentenary is also very important because we have an identity; we can be and feel free. Some people say they are proud of being Chileans, for living in an independent country.
Present government is doing a lot of activities and works for making a country more connected and attractive with many touristic places.
Bicentenary is also an opportunity for reflecting together about trajectory historical of Chile and also for dreaming and building our future with the help and the effort of all of us.

Last winter vacations I did not go to any interesting place, but it does not mean that I did not enjoy my vacations. I wanted to go to the mountain with my family, because I like very much to be in contact with the nature, but unfortunately, I was ill during the first week , I had stomach ache, I do not know what I ate, because I felt really bad.

So I just visited to my best friends. We had a good time, we spoke too much, and also we went shopping together.
I go to the church every weekend, and I and my friends did a small party for children from our town during my winter vacations. Also we were to paint and to repair our church because it was destroyed after the earthquake. It was a great experience because we could work as a team, it was teamwork!!... I enjoyed a lot, though we finished our work very tired.

Also I and my family went to visit to my aunt and cousins, because we had not seen them since a lot of time. There I talked and shared a lot with my cousins, and then we walked around their house, because they live in countryside…in a beautiful and relaxing place!!

Another interesting thing that I did during my vacations was to go to Curicó, It is really a big and beautiful city. So, I and my family decided to go there.
We visited the square; I think It is more beautiful and bigger than our square. Then, we visited the mall, It has got a lot shops with many clothes, shoes, and other things, but I could not buy any, because they are very expensive!!
In the mall there was a small zoo of snakes, we visited that place. There were many snakes with different names, like “Cobra” or “Rattlesnake”. I learnt a lot about them, for example their poison is used for curing some diseases.
Well, they are not my best winter vacations, but I enjoyed what I did, and I think my summer vacations will be better…I hope!!!

In the world cup the best countries play, Chile is among them. The Chilean have bought of sport stuff.
There are many things, for example, T shirts, cups, balls,hats,glasses flags, and the famous “vuvuzelas”.
The streetvendors have earned a LOT of money because they buy stuffs cheaper than official stores. Also they say that people have bought more goods than in Chritmas OR New Year
Generally they sell the goods very quicly and normáis got sold out.
People can buy a many things, there are some veery expensive things and very cheap too.
Also it is a fashion because the world cup take place each 4 years and there are countries who haben’ th placed it since a LOT of years.
This sport fashion is attracting a lot of people, even those who didn’t like football. Really, it is a world cup-fever!!

Also it is a very popular because Chile hadn’t been playing the world cup since many years, and it hadn’t won a first match since 1962.
That is why people is so happy..!!

I usually go shopping with my friends or my sister, I don’t go alone because I am very indecisive,so I always need some advice of other people.Generally,I buy trourses, sweaters, shoes.I never buy clothes very expensive, I am always lookiing the offers!


My favorite shop is Ripley or Falabella, because in these shops there are beautiful clothes and accessories, though sometimes the beautiful clothes is very expensive, so I prefer don’t buy they. I don’t have a favrite department, because I only buy what I need.

Sometimes I buy in “Boutiques” because in these ones there are few exemplaries, because I don’t like when other people wear the same clothes mine. My favorite color for clothes are grey, green, purple, and brown, I don’t like black clothes! Though the most important is the style.

Sometimes I go shopping other places, for example, I go to Curicó because there, there is more variety. Also, in Curicó there are many shops with beautiful clothes, and the clothes in this one in cheap!

Also, I have bought second-hand clothes, they are very convenient, because is beautiful and the most important is very cheap! Only, you must know to choose!

About the place, I would like to go to countryside, because I love it. In countryside I can relax and enjoy nature. My favorite place is Vilches, it is a beautiful place. In Vilches there are many trees and plants, there is a river too, that is why I’d like to go there, though to visit other places would be interesting. Also I like a lot the sea, so I would like to go there too. What is important is that it must be a simple and pleasant place where we can enjoy.


About the company, I would like to be with many people. The first person, for example, would be my favorite artist, he is a singer, he’s Juanes, I like his songs, he´s a great singer, he’s really a great person, he dreams with world peace, he doesn´t like racial discrimination. I like his music, because it is about values, love and peace. But he is not the first preference.
Also I would like to eat with my family, my mother and my two sisters. They are very important for me.
Finally, I would like to eat with my friends, because they are special people and very important in my life and I like sharing special moments with them.


I would like to eat international food, perhaps, Chinese food or Italian food, because I have never eaten it. Really, I think food is not the most important thing. The most important is the company!
